Email Marketing - Responding To Subscribers

Email marketing is usually taken as an automated system, except when sending manual broadcasts. But you still need to set yourself standards of value to your subscribers. Always check your grammar and organization to avoid confusion and frustration. Think of it as a personal letter.

First, have a clear introduction, then the body of the email, and a clear close. Use the name of the person you're replying to. Thank them and give you're response that fits what they asked about. At the end of the body, repeat the thanks. People like to be thanked. Then have your ending.

Keep the email brief and specific to the topic you're dealing with. Don't wander off the topic at any point. That's an easy way to be too general. Keep your language easy to read, explaining any technical terms.

Second, when the email is automated, you still must be maintaining your attitude and standards. Have the email go through important ideas. Again, thank them for asking. If needed, give them a suitable time period as to when they'll get your response. You might need to also give them alternative ways to contact you, such as a different email address.

Third, when it's an email written only to the one person, even more so do you need to keep to your business values. Answer their exact question. You could include a repeat of what they asked, to jog their memories of the exact topic. This also generates trust they know you're relating to their exact question. Answer it as fully as you can. If helpful, you could point to useful related resources and how to contact you. Thank them just before you finish the email.

List Building - What's The Reason To Build A List?

Getting a customer can take a high cost. There can be a long lead of events starting with some sort of marketing, paid or free, to attract relevant people. Time might pass and having made several offers to one of them, a person might buy from you and thus become your customer. The cost of that one customer has to make up for the cost of all those who did not buy from you. This can be expensive to maintain.

It's the same online as offline. Online you have to get people to your site, and then make offers there. But most will not buy, they go away maybe never to return, and the time and money spent to get them there has been a waste.

However, the picture changes completely of you develop a list.

By building a list you make more sure you have not wasted time and money.
Imagine collecting the email of every single person to your site. As long as they are on the list, you can make as many offers as you like. You get those extra chances to convert them to customers.

Your list is golden. When they have gone from your site, you can go on communicating with them, maybe even years later.

Also, whatever they they took in exchange for their address lets you know their specific interests. That gives you targeted information in order to convert them to customers.

Niche Internet Business At Home

By niche I mean not selling internet marketing products. Instead it might be a hobby of yours or a specific professional service you provide.

Unfortunately, people still get too focused on their website as the be all and end all of what they want to do. You do need one but once it's built you need to market it. No-one knows it's there. For example, if your products are cakes and bakery ones, you're able to use cake and bakery related magazines to advertise in. Also, create content about your topics and publish them on related sites, as well as sites like YouTube if you're using videos. Someone looking for information on cakes and bakery products will search for them and hopefully find your content with a link to your site.

Have the link go to a page where you offer them a freebie such as a 5 part email course on baking a particular sort of popular cake, perhaps with your own twist to it. Having them on your list means you can communicate with them regularly through emails and sometimes send them an offer. If you're going to use email marketing, it's key to get all your visitors' email addresses.

Here are ways to get your business started.

1 Make sure you have product to sell.
If you don't have one yet, choose an affiliate program selling products related to your business. You get a percentage of the selling price when someone buys it through your link.

2 You need a website. Build a new one or buy into one already done for you with products included.

3 Market your business. Think of and research every possible way you can to market your business. Research on the web, in libraries, in bookshops, in magazines. You can also pay experts in your niche to give you advice and help.

I presume you want to be free from working for someone else. Work out a step by step plan to start your business and follow it through.

Strategy For Internet Marketing - Have you Got One?

There's more to it than simply making a website and getting traffic to it. Have a strategy.

1 Build your list. Have an opt in page or pages where people who reach your site can give you their  email addresses for something of value to them. Why build a list? People need to see your offer about 7 times or more before they make up their minds to buy your product. So, send them emails regularly, some with your offers and some with related information, and that also have your site address and with a link to your offer.

2 Make it easy for them to pay you. Paypal can even be used to let them pay on your site. Paypal also allows payment with credit card, or you might want a separate system to do that, and the choice to pay by debit card.

3 Make it easy for them to download your product. That is, allow them to get your product straight away after they have paid you. Also allow them to download later if they want to as they might pay you using one device but then download it to another device.

4 When your payment and download organization is fast and easy to use, they will more than likely return for further products from you.

These 4 are the basis of your strategy, each of them being of equal importance.

Writing Articles - Do This

Your content, including articles, can generate traffic that is responsive to what you have to say and offer them to help them in your niche.

1 Do 2 basic things. First your level of writing needs to be accessible to a broad swathe of prospects. Second, use niche keywords that people in that niche use and search for.

2 Keep your content organized. Keep paragraphs short and to the point. To help this, use headings. Also keep your sentences of a reasonable length. Imagine you're a reader and you want to understand the contents quickly, as most readers do online, by dividing it into chunks you help them do that. You do not need to write at great length: keep to around 800 words maximum.

3 Have you ever read a really impactful headline in a newspaper? It brings the person into the story or information, making them want to know more. Aim to do this with your titles. For example, use questions or be contentious. Get their view to shift, almost without thought, from the title to your beginning paragraph. Of course, the title still has to have a relation to what the article is about. Avoid just asking an outrageous question in your title with no relation to the article content. This will only cause irritation, and people will remember your article negatively.

Website Traffic - Getting More Of It

If you have your website set up you may have realized quickly enough that if you can't get enough traffic to it, then it has little value as a business property.

1 It's obvious you have to promote your site in some way. You should be building your list, so the quickest and easiest way to do that promotion is through your own emails. You can use the content of individual emails, with a link, or have a link permanently placed in the signature section.

2 Use ads where it fits your business and marketing plan. You can place banners on other sites where you have found your prospects go online to get information on topics you sell products about. Use search engines to find these types of site. Obviously, any charges for placing your ads will have to fit into your budget.

3 Referrals are a great way to get traffic. For example, from other experts in your niche. In fact anyone who people will accept as having some related authority in your niche can be a valuable source of traffic from their site to yours. For instance, you ask them to put a link in their emails or to let people they know who can use what you have to offer.

People often forget just how big the internet is. It is vast. So you have to find those places and people interested in, and can use, what you sell, then promote it any way you find works for you and your business.

Search Engines - Search Engine Optimized Site

Have you just got your website onto the web? Are you waiting for traffic? It might be a long wait if you're not optimizing your pages for the search engines.

You're not only after traffic but also visitors who will become customers, paying you for your products. To do that use the right keywords for your website topic.

Your keywords will get you more buyers, as well as more clicks and return visitors to your site. You want keywords that will attract and keep people's attention. In your page titles, use attractive language that gets the visitor's interest, and holds it because of the relevance to the topic they've searched for.

Also, have a domain name to back up your site's topic. Put keywords in your page title, links to other pages, and related ones in your page text. Avoid simply repeating your main keyword but use synonyms. This way you should have better rankings in the search results.

Simply having a site does not mean you will get traffic to it. Think of your own actions online when searching. You go to those sites that get your attention through their keywords promising to have just what you're looking for. So use your topic's keywords to get your targeted audience's attention and keep it when they arrive at your site.

RSS - Useful In Your Business?

If you're using RSS feeds to publish content on your site, you need information that is about the same topic as your site. To do that, check out feedster.com. Or search for feeds about the same topic. Or find sites that are dealing with the same topic as yours, or related topics, and click on their orange RSS link. Put the RSS URL from there into your own feed.

Only get feeds about your topic, or near-topics if they fit what you're doing. What you do not want is that when a search engine updates its index with information on your site, that the information is irrelevant to your site. That way you'll only get visitors who like the look of the feed but have no interest in your topic. That is, they're totally unqualified.

RSS for mobile marketing is easy now, so it's possible to be passing on a mass of your niche information to a much larger base of interested people. What you're after is having as many ways as possible for people to meet your content, including feeds. This is the opposite of aiming to publish exactly the same content on lots of different sites.

You're developing your online presence. You can combine publishing your own new content on your site very regularly, with site feeds information showing on your site. Thus search engines will visit you more, and you get direct traffic from feed readers.

RSS - Your Simple Explanation

Crawler bots are sent out by search engines across the web to collect information as to what new has been done. They collect it on their servers. Someone does a search which is related to what the crawler has collected. The searcher is shown a list of search results related to that they entered in their search. Those sites shown in the results have been indexed by the search engine.

Here's an example. Google sends a crawler to your website and collects most of the information on there, so that information is indexed. Nevertheless, the crawler will not necessarily get all the information from your site. It decides how regularly to visit your site by how often you publish new posts and so on. For instance, putting new information on your home page means it will visit the site more frequently.

Sometimes you get stuck and can't publish new stuff. You could use RSS at those times. Feeds will collect information from other sites and place it on yours, so you have a constant flow into your site. Becasue of this crawlers will want to collect your new information, maintaining its indexing, and search results showing your site for specific search terms on your site.

Domain Name - Choose It With Care

Many names that people starting off with a website would like to use, are now taken. They're already paid for and being used or are parked.

Choose your name and then check if you can get it. Put it into your browser and if a website comes up, then it's gone, and you'll have to choose a different domain name. Another way is to go to somewhere such as NameCheap.com where you can try one name after another, including any variations you might want to use if you can't use your first choice.

Having found a name not being used, then pay for it. You can use a place such as NameCheap. Or if you want to buy it outright as your own, check it out on registrar websites or auctions on auction sites such as Ebay. However, take care doing it this way. For example, if the seller is saying the name has been making money on a site, ask for evidence of the revenue of that site.

If all is ok, then you have your domain name that should be memorable and short as possible. Now you  need to send to traffic to it once you have your site set up with it. A domain name can be vital to your business on that site succeeding.

Domain Name - How To Choose Yours

Think about these points when choosing your domain name.

1 Only if you're a local business do you want to include the name of a local area. For example, oregondogwalking.com is ok if you only walk dogs in Oregon. When your business covers a bigger, even national, area searchers won't know it does when your site name comes up in the search results. Don't use a local name unless that area is the limit of your business activity.

2 It must be memorable in some way. Thus domains that are too long are easily forgotten - think about trying to remember a long phone number or password. People just won't do it. Keep it straightforward in its spelling, lack of capital letters, and preferably avoid hyphens. These also mean extra calls on the memory. People will go for the easily remembered name that's therefore at the top of their mind for your type of business.

3 Check out other forms of your domain name. When you get, for example, expertdogwalking.com, you could also get expert-dogwalking.com, or expertdogwalking.net, and so on. What it means is no-one else can use those names and weaken your brand.

4 Just buy a name in the ordinary way at a few dollars per year. Don't end up paying a domain name dealer big money for it. That's how dealers make their money. Use that money on your own business, maybe to brand it more deeply and widely in your market.

5 The well recognized and generally more accepted names are still .com ones. It makes you sound more solidly business-like, and international if it's important for your business to be so. There's a trust in .com as people everywhere recognize it.

Domain Name - Decide What Business First

Your domain name choice can turn out to be extremely important for your business success or not. It has to be memorable. You want it ideally to be at the top of their minds when they think of your type of business. If not, they'll always go somewhere else. This means profit loss for you.

Also, think about how your site will turn up in the search engines. Will the domain name help you to rank high enough to attract traffic? That would mean having a niche keyword in your domain name.

However, that's  not the best way to go nowadays. You want to think up a unique domain. Then make that unique name into a brand.

Think Ebay or Amazon. There is no need to search for these in search engines. Why? Because their name is their brand. These names are at the top of your mind for using an auction site or buying books and other products online.

It might still be useful to use a keyworded domain name in a small business and you're just getting started, and you want some traffic generation through the search engines. But branding is the better long term strategy.

Content - Using It For Traffic

You get quality interested people wanting to subscribe to your list, through your content. Using content for traffic means creating your content with an opt in page or other link, then publishing it on relevant high ranked sites.

What you get is very targeted traffic.

Yes, traffic from search engines is able to provide you with good traffic too. But you can make that much better.

Creating content and publishing it relevantly with well chosen keywords means you can be in the top 10 results.

Someone surfing the web comes across your content and consumes it. However, only a small percentage will find it interesting enough for them to click your link. This is exactly what you want. You automatically get rid of the freebie seekers and the just-curious. The small percentage are the ones who genuinely want to find out more from you.

Once you get used to content creation and publishing you're able to get better and better at improving it.

Internet Marketing Strategy - Some Basics

What should you be looking at when you're just starting your online business? It's an excellent question to start with. But there are so many supposedly fast business opportunities on the internet it's hard to decide what to do. Plus, who do you believe?

There is not necessarily one answer in every detail for all online businesses.

However, needless to say, it's best to keep away from those fast opportunities, especially when they promise a big financial outcome in a short time. Does it sound too good? Then it almost certainly is.

It's best to aim to have a business that is yours, not only legally, but the way you structure it and run it. Of course, you must have a product of some description to sell to those people who are looking to buy it. This can seem obvious but some people forget it.

Make your own business selling your products.

Here are some basics.

1 Choose a narrow niche which is part of a bigger niche. Something you already know about or will learn about.

2 Have a product or service to sell in that narrow niche. You can build on this as you grow.

3 Answer the question: "Why will people buy from me rather than someone else?" Make your product or how you serve your customers or the structure of your business unique, or as original as possible in the sub-niche, so it stands out from other similar businesses. That is, what is your competitive advantage in the market?

4 Do the basics: create a website and your own system of working it and other part of your business. Depend as little as possible on others.

5 Create a list. It will be your own market, which you can help much better through constant communication. People are getting even faster at surfing the web, especially with mobile devices, and can move away from your site in seconds.

6 Aim to find a solid traffic source for your business. Try out and test different options. When you find one, then use it fully and focus on it.

Niche Marketing - Choose Something, Not Everything

Whatever market you're in or intend to be in, do you know some marketers trying to sell products about every possible area of it? This is a basic mistake to begin with: there's no focus and the marketer is too spread out.

It's much easier to sell in a niche which is part of a bigger market.

Here's why.

Imagine somebody searches for "lose weight". That person is not a targeted lead. But another person searching for "how to lose stomach fat" is. It's because the first searcher doesn't really know, it seems, what kind of diet they want, for what exact purpose. They are not yet ready to purchase yet, while the second searcher is ready to do that if they can find a product to suit them. So it's more difficult for you to sell to the first searcher.

This is like selling in a niche market. For example, somebody just going for "internet marketing" will probably take some time to get to the point of being ready to buy a product. They won't have anything set up: no site, no list, no opt in pages, no products. However, if somebody goes for "creating an opt in page", you have a chance of connecting with them as a seller. They might have tried various methods and might even have started their list. They have some knowledge and realize they need some more information to help them out.

This means being in a narrower niche gets you closer to selling your product, rather than trying to sell to everyone in a bigger market.

List Building - What's A Good Campaign?

If you're using email marketing in your business, then your list is the core of it in generating revenue. Once someone has subscribed to your list there's a good chance they will become a means of lifetime revenue for you.

Therefore, aim to have all your visitors sign up to your list. They are more valuable than sending people one-off to a sales page.

To achieve the long term revenue you need to write good campaigns. They need to be opening your emails continuously because they're motivated to do so, and they need to read them. Then, also, clicking your links in them. Even a small percentage in variation can make a big difference.

Therefore, you want long term relationships with your subscribers.

Do that by satisfying their niche needs and solving problems. You do not have to always be making an offer in every email.

It's far better, for example, to give freebies to subscribers for a month and have a lifetime customer, rather than they unsubscribe fast because of too many offers. If you keep giving freebies you'll merely be seen as someone who gives freebies, and not as in business selling products.

Subscribers must be willing to purchase your products, while you build an on-going relationship.

Email Marketing - Ideas For making It A Success

The death of email marketing is regularly claimed. Then there are the claims against receiving SPAM all the time from emailers sending out bulk emails to people who have not asked for them. It's important to get into your subscriber's inbox and not end up in their spam box.

Here are some ideas for doing that.

1 It's key that those you send emails to, have, in fact, opted in to your list. You can use double opt in where they have to click a confirmation link in a confirmation email you send them. If you want to use single opt in, then ensure they understand they are joining your list.

2 Send emails that keep their attention and they want to read, and act on if necessary. Give them important information about your niche that maybe they don't know, and will help them in some way. If you're in the exercise niche, give some beginner's tips on simple exercises or give the latest ideas on foods for health and keeping fit. In other words, give them something extra they would not have received if not on your list.

3 Give them a special offer. People like the idea of something just for them. It gives a sense of being privileged.

4 Ask them what they think of the stuff you're sending them. Because of the direct contact emails are an excellent way to get their opinions. And people like it that they have direct positive input. Use their ideas to improve your business.

Leverage your email marketing as an effective tool in improving your business both for yourself and your subscribers.

Content Marketing - How It Makes You Credible

Content that people like or are interested in gives you credibility. When someone goes through some of your content, like the one you're reading, it effects people's view of you. But it could be video, audio, a webinar, or an instagraphic.

However, it's not just a case of creating that content. You want to make it so the visitor feels driven to click your link. The content has to be useful to the visitor, and the best content to have is  content they can't easily get elsewhere on the internet.

Try these steps in order to get the click.

First, use a title that actually tells what the content is about. Avoid tricks. Keep to only one subject in the content piece.

You're reading this because you aimed to find out more about the title subject. Not something else. So it should be on target here. Get credibility by giving people what you promise and what they therefore expect.

Second, imagine you're talking to a friend of colleague who's asked your advice. Keep it simple and straightforward. People don't want essays.

Third, offer a useful freebie, a gift you'd like to get if you were in their situation. Remember you want them to click your link.

Fourth, keep this in mind: you're not giving the content to entertain for a minute and then they go somewhere else, or to pass some time. You want them to click through to your website or wherever you want them to go. You're collecting clicks, to get subscribers, to get customers, in order to make a profit by giving useful help.

Forget about those who don't click. They wouldn't have bought from you anyway.

Content Marketing - You Must Know Your Subject

Content marketing is about getting focused traffic that's already interested in the subject of  the content.

Therefore, create content about stuff you know about in your niche. Through the niche information in your content there should also be a connection with your site's focus. You can fairly easily find more information about your subject both online and offline.

Of course, it's much better if you can create content from your own knowledge, preferably as someone with expertise in it.
Therefore you have to find out about your niche in some detail, or one aspect of it. Then you can tell other people how to take action on it.

But going even further, it's best to tell people knowledge who have started taking some actions in your niche and/or about an individual subject in it. Create your content for them as people at the very start of their online business usually don't want to spend money yet.

Aim to attract those people already working to some extent or other in your niche.

Opt In Page Basics

Building your list means having a way of people subscribing to it. One way is to have an opt in page which only exists in order to persuade visitors to join your list.

Two tactics in using an opt in page are to have people go to it before they reach your sales page, or have an opt in section on your site, such as in the sidebar of a Wordpress site. Try out different places for the opt in section to see which works best, getting you most sign ups. Also, of course, it will depend on how persuasive it is, so you test different layouts, for example, for the best results.

However, placing it above the fold and in a high place on your page should get you more opt ins. The more your freebie has in it should also get you more subscribers.

But try this. Have all your traffic, who are not yet subscribers, go straight to the opt in page. They have the option to join your list before they see anything on your site. You might think in that case most visitors will not join up and so you're losing sales. But if they won't opt in it's not likely they'd purchase anything from you anyway.

List Building - What's So Great About It?

Some people ask if list building is worth the effort. Why not just sell stuff to people on your website?

When people have been trying a totally different way of selling and getting leads, such as Adsense or Adwords or banner ads, and so on, it can seem odd to get subscribers, especially all you want to do is get sales.

Why do it then?

When you have a list you have a group of people focused on a common element in your niche. Now they might not want to buy from you at the moment. On the other hand, since they have an interest, they might buy from you later on.

If 100 visitors come to your site, 1 or 2% might buy a product from you. And you let the other 98 or 99 go. If they still want a product like yours the following month they may search for such a product and they may click the link to your site.

But if you have a list of such people, you email them about your product a few days later, with a link to go straight to your sales page from the email.

Content Marketing - Make Money With It

There are probably not that many people making money through their content marketing as such.

After all, it is not a walkover creating lots of content, especially unique to yourself. It can be time consuming, and people run out if ideas, which can be frustrating. Plus it is tedious to generate content on the same or similar subjects time after time.

Ok, how can you make money from it then?

Remember that focused content generates focused traffic.
This is the kind of visitors you want, who are interested in what you have to say and feel strong enough to click your link. Of course, there will be people who do not like your tone of voice, spoken or in text, or think your subjects are not very interesting.

However, some will go through the content, just as you're going through this article content now. Let's say 2% only are interested in finding more from you. They click your link. This is a targeted prospect. The best people will get to your site.

In this way content leads to making money.

Even better, you build your list with these best people. You have several lists to do with different niche subjects. More content in your email campaigns, and other content, leads to making even more money over a longer period of time.

Your Content And Your Affiliate Marketing

Content marketing is creating content, in whatever format, that has links in it to your site. You publish that content on high ranked sites.

Affiliate marketing is getting people to a sales page selling a product that belongs to someone else. If someone buys the product you get paid a percentage of the selling price.

You can see that you need plenty of traffic to the affiliate sales page. Now, the more focused that traffic is, the more sales there are likely to be, and the more money goes to you.

Because of the nature of content it generates focused traffic. As long as the content is concentrated on one niche subject, and people are searching for that subject, when they go through the content they are more likely to click your link to the affiliate sales page. This is the best sort of traffic. Why? You're pointing them to the exact solution to their problem and to the type of product they were searching for.

Know your affiliate products and create content about them. From the content, though, send them first to your own opt in page to get their email. Build your own list so you can sell repeatedly to them. You'll make more than only sending people to the affiliate sales page.

Search Engine Optimization - What Are The Basics Of SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) means improving your website to get high search results for a particular search term. This is different from using private blog networks or buying links to your site.

What are the basics?

There are the changes to make on a site page, and doing things off-page.

The work on the page is probably the less significant. It's simply taking basic actions. Choose your keywords and use your main one in the title and the meta tag description which might be used by the search engines in the actual search results. When the engines read the page code they presume your keyword is what the page is about.

The off-page work is obviously away from your site page, and is usually done on other people's sites. It's the creation of links back to your page, preferably using your page's keyword or those related to it, though you need to make sure you vary the link texts and don't keep repeating the same link format. The search engines read all the links as meaning your page is popular with other related websites.

Search Engines - Problems Marketing With Them

You probably realize that the search engines aim to provide the best related possible results for any search term. That way, they also rank sites and pages on them.

Ideally, the search engines would assess the content on a page and the site with the best information for a term would be placed higher in the search results. They may be aiming to do this more and more precisely. However, some marketers then would have their site have the appearance of having more information about a subject than other sites.

This can put many sites at a disadvantage.

Therefore, search engines look to the number of links are pointing to a site or page.
Preferably these should be from high quality and relevant sites. The more you have going to your site the more popular it is seen to be.

But then some marketers find ways of using collections of blogs, or create software to generate links automatically. Those involved in such practices then are the ones to get the higher search rankings for a term, and others lose out.

Website Traffic - The Best Way To Get People To Respond

You want traffic from your content marketing. So create it to max out the potential of each content piece.

Creating content is not difficult if you know your subject. You might be good at making videos, audios, webinars, or text products. Of course, any format takes practice and making mistakes to learn from. On the whole, everyone can create content in some format at some length.

How do you get people to respond to it, though, in the way you want them to?

I'm sure you've come across content that makes you want to respond to it.
You just have to click the link to find out more.

A key part of getting that to happen is that when you're creating the content, in your head you're just adressing one person.

Even just having a conversation with them. This way it can have the feel of coming from you personally.

Also, keep to one subject in any piece of content. The odds are a visitor lands at your content because they were mentally focused on getting some particular information. When your content provides that particular information they'll probably want more from you, and click your link. On the other hand, you might begin with some information they're after but then move to another subject part way through. That's where you lose them and they click away.

Keep it simple: focus on one subject and one visitor.

Traffic Generation- Use Content

The useful thing about creating content in order to direct traffic is that you're able to have a different opt in page for the different topics of your content. That is, you increase the power of the targeting of traffic as the opt in follows through from the same topic the freebie is about.

When you publish content regularly you create web presence for your business as well as getting traffic.

Traffic from your content is interested traffic and so qualified for the niche topic you deal with.

Of course, the more clicks you can get, the more opt ins you can potentially get, if that's where you send the traffic. But you still have to produce lots of content.

First, create your content, with one or more anchor links to your opt in page, if you're building your list.

Second, publish each piece of content uniquely on a high ranked website.

Third, wherever you send the traffic ensure it's related to the content topic.

Online Business And Your Content Creation

Many people think that online business is only about getting a website and selling whatever they can.

But such websites are all over the web now. Many of them are almost clones of each other. They forget their subscribers and customers are real and individual people. Just like offline, they want to know they can trust you, they like your style of working, and so want you to sell them products they need and want.

Creating content is a key way of getting to this situation. By generating valuable content you're qualifying those who want more information from you and will want to buy from you. Many people might go through, or have a look at, your content, but only a percentage will click your link to find out more from you. It's these people who will purchase your products.

You're generating targeted traffic, subscribers and customers.
Dedicate an amount of daily time to creating content to develop your business. Does that sound worth it? Try it for a set period of time and a set number of pieces of content, whatever format, and track the results. Maybe it won't be useful in your business but you won't know unless you try it out.

Traffic Growth With Your Content

There are a few ways that your content can grow your traffic. To begin with there are the backlinks you get to your site. They help with getting your site higher in the search results for particular keywords. That way you get website visitors from the search engines. Also, putting your content on high ranked sites means you can attract more people to your content and, when they click your link, through to your website.

By having a strategy for how you publish your content, you can attract people who are targeted prospects for your niche, as well as the backlinks as mentioned.

Of course, you content must be interesting enough for a person to go through it all and then feel compelled to click to your site.

There is a learning curve as to producing such content.

When you have a real interest in your niche and its topics, and not just trying to do something for the money potential, it can be seen in your content. In turn, this keeps visitors to your content interested in it. In fact, it's possible to keep someone going through the content even when they had no interest in it to begin with.

But that's not the usual situation. People who come to your content will have sought it out in some way. Your content, then, instills a keeness to find out more. They will judge your level of knowledge on even a first piece of content they meet, and decide if you know enough to help them or will be able to give them information they want. They need to feel you can give answers to any of their questions.

A Creation Method For Your Content

1 With content marketing you can build your traffic to your site. But even better is that the traffic is filtered by the content so mostly only those interested in your information click through. They're pre-sold on further content you have to offer.

2 It also helps when you have many pieces of content about topics in your niche with your name on them. This develops your credibility and you're seen as having expertise in your niche. In turn, this perception as a niche expert develops a feeling of trust in you. This can then transfer to subscribers' sign ups and conversions to customers.

3 If you're in a particularly niche market it might be more difficult to get traffic to your site. By putting your content on high ranked websites you can piggyback on those sites to increase your content ranking and then get traffic from the content to your site through backlinks.

4 Creating content helps your business because you're developing content continuously. That same content can be adapted for use on your site or in your emails or use in your products.

I hope this makes the point creating content is worth doing to help your business, including generating quality traffic.

Website Traffic From Using Your Content Marketing

Content marketing is a qualifying process for your traffic. That means the traffic you do get is of better quality in terms of  prospects than someone just clicking on an ad. It also means you're not getting so many people using up your bandwidth that will never become customers.

There is a way of organizing and creating content that will get people to click your links. I've gone through this more than once. There are no great complications about it. But there are people who will claim they've seen all this information before. Of course, they tend to be the people who do not put that information to use. Therefore they don't know if it works for them or not.

The absolute basic is to create lots of content. Create content daily if you can. Just having the occasional piece of content on the web will not produce the effects you need. Create as much as you can.

Take this on board as the basis for you starting your online business and see if it works for you. However, it's important to have this traffic generation as part of your whole business strategy whereby you convert traffic to subscribers, and subscribers into customers. During this process you have to establish your credibility. For example, through your products being of value to your customers, so that they will go on to buy other products from you.

Link To Exact Pages For SEO

Create qualified traffic visiting your site through your content and the links in it from that content to your site.

When you've created your content, and having checked it, you want to let people get more information from you if they want it. Do this with your link: see the end of this article.

To be more exact, a backlink to your site, and more exactly to a page on it. With the anchor link, which includes the keyword you're focusing on, send people to a particular page.

Not only are you sending them to more related information but when you publish your content on a high ranked site, the search engines see that link from it as having more importance. If there is a page on your site you want to increase in search engine results, you can have several links back to it to help optimize it for search engines for a particular keyword.

Content Marketing - Your Content Must Persuade To Action

I presume you're aiming to generate revenue through your content and site. Otherwise there'd be no business. To do that, your content needs to generate enough interest so people carry through to click your link.

Have a title persuading people to go through your content. Often, on sites that publish content you can place a sentence or two that describes what your content is about. Make this attractive enough to someone in your niche.

Now, you might have a good title. But you're just getting started. You have to create that content about the title so it maintains the interest they had on seeing the title. People can leave very easily instead of following through. That's why you must be answering a common niche question or giving a solution to a niche problem. You want to convince the person you can provide niche help for them. If that's the case, then they will click the link to your site.

Keep asking yourself: Will this convince someone? You have to do it all the way through: with your title, keywords, the substance and organization of the content, and the link.

Content Marketing - The Website Needs You Too

You create content to get traffic to your site.

However, the site on which you put that content needs you just as much as you need it. You're best using high ranking sites. That means they're already getting plenty of traffic. But to keep getting it they need new content for the search engines to pick up on.

Also, once you've published it, someone might link to it from their own site. This means more traffic to your content if it's found to be valuable enough to recommend it.

When your piece of content is in the search results, the link in it back to your site is back to an individual page, not the whole site. Therefore, get as many links as you can to as many pages as you can. Create content that goes into different topics of your niche or site, and not about them generally. The backlinks, then, go back to related and relevant site pages.

Keep in mind to create content to generate traffic and keep the interest of the person going through it. They must find it useful and easy to get through. Don't forget you only have a few seconds in which they decide to continue or click away.

Email Marketing - Your Effective Process

You need to build your list to do email marketing. The aim is to develop a relationship over time with those people on your list so they trust you enough to buy from you. Also, you aim to have them buy from you as many times as possible because they find your products useful and valuable.

Go through these actions.

First, buy into a good autoresponder
. You need to make sure that you can get your email delivered and without problems.

Second, put on opt in page on your site. Send your traffic to the opt in page. If you have it as your home page, people need to sign up to your email list if they want to see the rest of your site.

Third, tell them to sign up to get your valuable and useful freebie.

Fourth, when they have signed up, provide them with valuable content in your emails or elsewhere, some freebies, and the best product offers you can make to them. These will continue to develop your relationship with them and build increasing trust over time.

Fifth, because of this trust they'll be willing to buy from you rather than someone else. This is especially powerful when they only want to buy products created by you.

List Building Relationships - Try This

Are you on lots of email lists? And getting lots of emails? Me too. But most of them I don't even open. Others I look forward to. Why is that?

Although I've never met them, I feel a relationship with those I open.

It's key to create such a relationship with the people on your list.

This starts with the first time they come across you, and then takes time to develop. It's developed through your opt in page and freebie, and your first emails.

At any point they're interacting with some material of yours, they want to think you know more than they do. There is something you can pass on to them and help them with. I don't think you'd stick with somebody who you believed knew less than you about your niche.

The first material they go through of yours should be easy to get through and intelligible.

Your first email has to be friendly enough combined with a sense of expertise.

Then your second email develops that further. Plus reinforce the sense of niche expertise, demonstrating you have strong information to give them, and that you're able to provide them with free information and other gifts.

Want Reasons To Build Your List?

Maybe you have a website set up and you're getting some revenue from it. So you might wonder: why bother build a list when I've  already got some income?

It is a good question, even today, because of the extra time and effort it takes. If this is your situation you could send 50% of your traffic to a squeeze page, and the other 50% to a sales page. This means you can still see some direct profit while testing out the difference with having a list.

You can see your statistics for your income from your sales page compared to that from your opt in page. When you see the opt in method is generating greater revenue, you can go over to sending all your traffic to an opt in page.

Let's imagine you're getting one in every hundred unique people to your sales page to convert to customers.

For your opt in page there's  33 people out of every hundred convert to join your list.

Therefore, to have the same sales result as your sales page you need to get 3 out of each of the 33 to buy from you.

Immediately upon subscribing you send them directly to the sales page.

Then, over time, you send the non-buyers over and over to your sales page so that you get a bigger number converting to customers than you had originally with just the  sales page. Also, when they buy one product you can offer them more products which gives you more revenue you do not get with only the sales page and no subscribers.

Build Your Own Online Business - One Method

Online business can be hard or not, especially starting one. The basis is finding out what you need to know online so you don't end up doing all the wrong things. Why try to create something out of nothing when there are businesses doing the things that work that you can learn from?

The method I'm suggesting here involves creating your own niche products. This makes for generating revenue more consistently over time. However, if you're just starting your business you can use affiliate products to start up your revenue. But moving to your own products as soon as you can.

Here's the basic method.

First, choose a niche.
That is, focus your efforts. If you try to sell to wide a variety of products, at least early on, you'll become weighed down. If you do want to have a business selling a whole variety of stuff you need to get good information or training on it, and get going. If not, you need to focus.

Second, create and develop a website with strong relevant content on it about your niche.
Third, put an opt in page on the site with an attractive freebie to start building your list. Get traffic to that opt in page.

Fourth, create niche relevant content and publish it on various websites across the web, ensuring it's unique to each site. Put a link in that content going back to your site.

Fifth, develop an engaging email sequence with lots of valuable content in it.

Sixth, sign up to be an affiliate for some products in order to get your revenue started.

Seventh, start creating your own products. As you create each one, replace an affiliate product with your own.

Now, go on repeating this method.

Start To Get Sign Ups To Your List

It's no great mystery as to why the advice is always to start growing your list straight away. Why is this? It creates a situation where you can communicate with people who sign up over and over again with your product offers. Without a list, you might get people to visit your site but then they leave and you never see them again.

In addition, you can form a long term relationship with people on your list so you learn about what they need in your niche and what they want. You then create the product and offer it to them. It's much moe likely they'll buy from you becasue you're providing them with just what they wanted.

How to begin.

You will have to learn as you go
. Your first emails might not be very good but will get better as you gain more experience.

First, create a site that you control.

Second, get an autoresponder service that you pay for monthly.
Don't try to run one yourself.

Third, create a sign up page with the benefits of your freebie, and a form you get from your autoresponder.

Fourth, generate traffic to the page.

Fifth, create and email sequence. Use the tracking from your autoresponder to see which emails are working best or not. Each week change the email that works the worst. This will build an effective sequence over time.

Tuesday 1 March 2016

What's The Point Of Having A List?

Ok, you've created your site, search engine optimized it, and you're sending traffic to it. What happens? Will they keep a record of your site and come back later? Do you want your income to depend on the possibility they might return? I thought not.

That's why you build your list: so that visitors don't just disappear, and you can influence they're buying choices from you. Your list is, in effect, your market in your niche. Also, your subscribers, by clicking through your link an giving their email to join your list, have demonstrated they want more from you. As time goes on, your list provides a means of tracking and testing your market so you can learn more about them and increase the targeting of your emails and products.

Getting subscribers is not a difficult process. There are plenty of services will provide you with opt in page templates, and autoresponders.

You make the effort to get people to your website, so the best thing for the future of your business is to grow your subscriber list. Every time you get a new subscriber you're probably increasing the return ratio on the time, and maybe money spent, on getting them.

Getting Clicks From Your Content

Creating content, in whatever format, is a strong way of generating traffic for your online business. However, it's still possible to find it difficult to get people to click your links in the content. That is, you want people who have gone throiugh your content to click the link to your site. In addtion, you want them to do this because the content has already sold them on your ability to help them in your niche, and on taking any freebie you're offering.

To do that, try this.

First, you must have a title that directly relates to what the content is about
. This is vital. Imagine yourself going to some content because of a title you've seen but the content is not what the title says it is. How do you feel? Probably cheated. Instead of building trust and credibility it removes any hope of them being generated by your content. They will not take your feebie or buy from you.

Second, you have to provide quality information. For instance, you might give a solution to a niche problem. You show your expertise by doing this. Your visitor is looking for someone who has more niche knowledge than they do, in order to get help from them.

Third, give them a valuable reason to click your link. This creates desire, especially in gaining more expert information to help them in their niche business.

How To Do Search Engine Optimization Of Your Site

Once search engine optimization of your website was seen as the key to getting traffic from the search engines. Today, that's not the case. You do basically need your site optimized but now the focus is more on the quality of content and backlinks to your site from other reputable websites.

People always claim to be finding loopholes to take advantage of but they're quickly filled by the search engines. Obviously, any weakness which is advertized in that way, the search engines will also find out about. So it's best to keep to the essentials when setting up your site and when you're creating your site content. Wordpress is the easiest platform for creating your own independent presence online.

There is onsite and offsite optimization.

Onsite, including in your posts, is about making the post an easier place for the search engines to get information about.

First, have your keyword for the content in your title. At the beginning still seems preferable.

Second, put the keyword in the description of the post. Search engines may use this or the meta tag in the search results.

Third, put it in the header tag.

Fourth, put it in the tag section.

Fifth, put it in the meta tag.

Sixth, limit the amount you use it in the actual content
. Keep it below 2% or even less.

Offsite optimization is about generating quality links to your site.

First, create more and better links than your top competition.

Second, create valuable content in any format and place it on high ranked sites. You might want to create some variety by placing on some less well ranked sites too. Have a link in the content back to your site.

You Need Quality Traffic For Your Site

There are plenty of ways of getting traffic as such. You can pay for cheap traffic and get lots of visitors who do nothing. Better to aim for quality traffic that wants what you offer.

Of course, buying cheap traffic is much easier to get than quality traffic.

So, how do you get that quality?

Here are two ways that can do that.
First, traffic from search engines.

Second, attracting people through your content.

Actually, these work together. Plus you can have a process doing both more or less at the same time. Here's how.

First, provide content that people who are quality traffic will want to know about. For instance, in internet marketing, people want to know about list building. So you might have content about how to build a list faster, or with qualified prospects to be convertd to customers with your emails. You can then make them an offer with more detail and depth.

Second, put a link in your content to your site page with the offer or to subscribe to your list.

Third, publish your content on high ranking sites.

Building Your List - First Things To Do

Why is list building so important? Because you can send your visitor to your sales page, repeatedly if necessary, so they are able to buy from you.

Think about a sales letter that converts people to customers at one in every hundred visitors. You could send people there, and one in every hundred will take your offer each day. But most just leasve and you never see them again. However, when you send them to your squeeze page you get their email address so you communicate with them and regularly send them to the sales letter so they have multiple opportunities to buy your product.

Now think about it further. The sales letter keeps converting at 1%. But now each week you send the same 100 people to the letter. Now you get 1% of them to buy every week, not just one buyer. After ten weeks you'd have 10% conversions of unique site visitors.

Here are the first things to get started.

First, buy into a good autoresponder service.

Second, create a squeeze page with a freebie offer, and some brief information about the benefits of having that freebie. The only job of this page is to get visitors to give you their email in the form on the page. Get this form from your autoresponder service.

Third, get traffic to that page. You can use traffic from search engines and from your content you publish.

Write Emails As If To Individuals

Ever had a standardized email, so it feels as if a corporation is addressing you? You probably didn't read it unless it had some importance for you. People on your list want to feel you're writing to them individually and dealing with their individual concerns.

You might use their name at the start as standard in your autoresponder. But it won't be enough.

Use the way you express yourself as if writing to one person at a time, not a whole group of people. Avoid phrases such as " to all on my list" or "a freebie for you all". Replace those sorts of expressions with the word "you", or for you" or "your freebie".

If you continue be stuck on being able to do this, think of someone you know well and write the email to them, and only them. Create each email just for that one person.

Still stuck? Get that person you know to join your list so that they can actually read your emails, as if to them only, and tell you whether it was personal as far they were concerned, and not a standardized one. That way, you are actually writing to one person.

Internet Marketing Funnel - A Basic Outline

The point about a funnel is to have a series of products offered to customers one after the other as they buy them. These products are increasingly valuable to customers, and increase in price. There has to be an increase in  trust in you too so that they keep on buying.

Think about starting with your first products in the funnel. These will be your freebie and your first paid product. Both of these, including your freebie for opting in to your list, are the first products in your funnel. They pay for the freebie with their email.

Providing both these products give customers more value than the price, it's more likely customers will buy more from you. Obviously, even the freebie must have more value for them.

You will be assessed by your freebie and cheaper product. That is, customers will make an assessment as to how good they think your future offers will be worth by these cheaper ones. In other words, if you received a cheaper or free product that lacked value for you, even at that price, would you then pay the same person for a $97 product? I'm sure you'd want to think about it first.

The funnel then gives customers more and more value as they go through it. For that reason, you can use increasingly higher pricing.

Build Your List - Opt In Page For List Building

An opt in page with a form for subscribers to give their email address is the key part of building your list.

However, do you have it as a separate page, or put your opt in form on your site pages?

You can do both. Give visitors every opportunity to join your list, no matter what page of your site they're on. Test this to see its effect in your business. Also, have a separate page which has the only purpose of getting people to sign up.

Make it the page visitors come to when they want to look round your site. Many, if not most, people will opt in to get to see the content on your site.

Still offer a freebie on the opt in page, either related to the content they've come from, or related to your niche. That way people are encouraged to opt in to get the freebie whereas if there seems no relation to the site or content they've arrived from, they may sign up but quite quickly unsubscribe.

Traffic - Traffic For List Building

Building your list is one of the best ways to generate revenue in your online business. However, you have to get things right. For example, if you have everthing set up but your email content is not effective you won't get good open rates or clicks on your links. Or if your opt in page does not produce sign ups you have no subscribers to make offers to. Poor traffic generation means you can't lead on to sales. Each bit has to fit and work together.

You need a particular sort of traffic in order to get subscribers that become customers. You might have ads of all sorts but does the traffic convert to subscribers?

Which is better for your business? 100 daily visitors with 10 sign ups and 3 customers from them? Or 50 visitors daily, and 20 become subscribers and 10 of those become customers? You could have much bigger traffic numbers yet only 1% opt in to your list.

You want traffic that converts to subscribers and then to customers. You want as direct link as possible between your traffic generation and sales. To do that you need to pre-sell your traffic, gaining trust that you have what they need, and those elements increasing through reading your emails so that they're willing to buy from you.

This is the traffic you get with content marketing. They go through your content, are interested what you present to them, and maybe try some of your ideas in their business. At some point they click your link on some content, and get a valuable freebie when the subscribe to your list. You can then keep communicating with them and make them offers, building the trust even further.

Niche Market - Build Your List Too

Niche marketers can still feel that there's not all that much for them in list building. They think it's ok for big markets like internet marketing but hardly worth the bother in their own market. But they could be leaving money on the table.

If you're in a niche market and not list building, have you ever considered this? You have your site, and you consider yourself a small competitor. You don't make all that much, and it could be that's ok with you.

Of course, it's your business, and you can take that view if you want to. However, let's take a quite extreme example where you only have 10 visitors a day. Not much chance from making any decent money from that?

Yet, work it out. 10 x 365 is 3,650 people to your site each year. Let's say one quarter become your subscribers to your list. That's  912 people on your list. There's no extra work. You're simply getting those people to opt in to your list from the traffic you have.

The usually accepted math on this to make $1 every month for each person on your list. You don't need me to work out that amount. And there's no extra traffic needed.

Start list building in your small niche market.

Here's more information on this: How To Do Marketing To Your List. Click the link.

How To Do Marketing To Your List

You can make money through content marketing building your list, and marketing to that list.

You use a squeeze page to have people sign up to your list. Using double opt in where they have to click a confirmation link in an email makes it more sure they're willing to read your emails.

You can track your emails. It's useful to know who and how many people opens an email, and who and how many click any links in it. You can see the connection between specific emails and people who purchase your product when you send them to the sales page.

Actions to take.

First, buy into an autoresponder service so you can sequence, time, and send your emails, as well as use their tracking.

Second, set up a squeeze page using a form from your autoresponder service. You can get software to enable you to create a squeeze page.

Third, send traffic to that page.

Fourth, develop a relationship with those who sign up to your list. Give them valuable niche information. Tell them how to do things in the niche or explain why certain actions are needed. Offer them products with the best quality you can find.

Subscribers From Content Purchase More

People who subscribe to your list when they've come from a piece of your content tend to buy more products from you, compared to those who come from other places.

Why is that?

It's to do with building a relationship with them.

When someone subscribes from, for example, a banner ad, you start creating a relationship with them as usual. You send them valuable content and keep in touch with them. But you're starting that relationship building only from the first email you send them. You're starting from scratch once they've subscribed.

But there's a difference when they subscribe from your content. The content acts as a filter because they've gone through your content about a subject they want to know about. They click your link in it becasue they want to see more of your information. They're interested in your style and tone. In other words, the relationship has begun.

This means that when they opt in, you can make offers quicker, they'll purchase something faster, and the relationship can grow more quickly. It's easier for you to follow through after they've experienced your work in your content.

Content And Your List Building

Content creation is maybe the best free way to market on the internet. Anyone can use the method and it can be organized into your working day online.

I've created quite a lot of written content in the form of articles and website posts now. It would be very cool for me to have created  more. Even on days I havn't I look back and think I should have done.

That's the content. The building of your list? This must be done in the right way. It has to be sorted the way you want it in your autoresponder. Plus it has to be made of subscribers who are already or want to be your customers. To achieve that they need to have trust in you.

That trust means they have to feel you have credibility. Your content is key in proving your credibility. They go through a piece of  your content and click through to your squeeze page for their freebie. That trust then follows through to your email campaign. Because of all this, you can sell them relevant products, which increases your credibility further.

There's a follow through from free content to the freebie to the emails to the initial and later products.

Deciding About Online Business Opportunities

Are you reading this now because you're still looking for that one online business opportunity to make you rich? Or because you've realized that their promises are not realistic and you're looking for a better and more realistic way to be in business online?

If it's the first, you're probably just beginning to look for such opportunities. If it's the second, you probably have bumped into too many over-promised ones you've spent money and time on, and are now beginning to feel frustrated.

Online is the same as offline business in that it has to be an actual business, and in it for the long haul. You have to have systems that work for you and products that are valuable to your customers.

There's no cookie cutter method or business. There are as many business organizations as there are people because each one is a reflection of the business owner. Besides which, each has to be unique in some way in order to differentiate itself from its competition. Otherwise, it wouldn't make any difference which business a customer bought a similar product from. For example, as in other parts of an online business, there are lots of different ways to get traffic to your website, from ads of various types to direct communication with prospective customers, such as emails or webinars.

You have to try out and work out what works best for you and your business. If you already have some experience in a method in your new business, you can try that out first so you're not starting from scratch with it. For example, if you're experienced in holding meetings online and have experience of the technology to do it, you might find webinars an easy method of communication for you, whereas others would staruggle as to where to begin.
